Ganaderia - Cattle farming grazing the rainforest frontier

Cows stand in the tall grass where once was the forest

Cattle farming is the agricultural activity in the region which requires the least effort for the highest gain. Along the roads leading into the rainforest most lands have been bought and converted into cattle farms. The pieces of land are stripped of any vegetation to achieve artificial prairies. The effect of removing all the vegetation with deeper roots is that the soil becomes very humid and unconsolidated. The varieties of cows are imported from the four corners of the world. From Swiss varieties to Indian ones.
